Weight Management
Clinical evaluation of body composition, metabolic markers, and the physiological factors driving weight change.
These pages are for men whose weight or body shape has changed in ways that sustained effort with food and exercise has not shifted. They explain why a practitioner may look at metabolic health, hormonal status and inflammation, and why body composition can say more than the number on the scale.
Consultations run by live video with an AHPRA-registered practitioner, who reviews your history and may request blood tests at a local collection centre. Any plan is personalised and depends on that assessment. Not every consultation leads to medication, and some men are referred back to their GP. Medicare and private health insurance do not cover these services.
Body composition changes are often gradual, so a simple record of waist measurement, meals and training over a few weeks gives your practitioner useful context. Follow-up consultations review progress with you and adjust the approach where needed.

How to choose the right page
- Choose medically supervised weight management if your main concern is weight that has not responded to calorie control and regular training, and you want to understand the clinical factors involved.
- Choose the body composition and metabolic health assessment if your weight is steady but your shape is changing, for example more fat around the waist and less lean muscle.
- If you are unsure, start with the weight management page. Both lead to the same type of consultation, and your practitioner tailors the assessment to you.
