Muscle Health
Assessment of hormonal, metabolic, and training factors that influence muscle health and physical performance.
These pages cover strength, muscle and recovery changes that some men notice from their 30s onward: lifts that stall, recovery that takes longer, or body composition shifting despite consistent training and nutrition. Some of these patterns are a programming issue; others may reflect hormonal, metabolic or inflammatory factors that a standard check-up does not measure.
A telehealth assessment with an AHPRA-registered practitioner reviews your training history, symptoms and, where requested, blood work collected at a pathology centre near you. The aim is to identify contributing factors, not to promise a result. Individual outcomes vary, and your practitioner may suggest changes to sleep, diet or programming before anything else.
Bringing a short record of your recent training, sleep and eating patterns helps your practitioner separate programming factors from clinical ones. Follow-up consultations then track how markers and symptoms change over time, so the approach can be adjusted rather than guessed.

How to choose the right page
- Choose age-related muscle loss if strength and muscle mass have declined gradually over a year or more, even with a steady programme.
- Choose the training plateau page if progress stopped recently and you want to work out whether the cause is your programme or something clinical.
- Choose the hormonal health assessment if several changes have arrived together, such as lower energy, slower recovery, poorer sleep and shifts in body shape.
- Read the page on hormone changes with age for background on natural decline and how practitioners assess it.
